About Professor Emerita Lorna Milne FRSE
Professor Milne has a wealth of experience in strategy, governance and leadership having held a number of senior roles at the University of St Andrews. These include, until recently, Master of the United College and Deputy Principal with responsibility for forward planning in relation to the University’s intellectual portfolio, academic appointments, space management and resource allocation.
On the University Senate, Professor Milne was instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of academic governance, learning and teaching, research and student experience, and was also a member of Court, the University’s governing body. Previous leadership roles at St Andrews further include Dean of Arts and Vice-Principal for Education. Prior to returning to her alma mater in 1996, Professor Milne held positions with HM Diplomatic Service in London and East Berlin, University of Auckland, New Zealand, and Aston University, Birmingham.
