This year’s Family Gathering will take place on Saturday 9 November at Apex City Quay Hotel, Dundee. This year, in recognition of our 35th anniversary, we’re also holding a celebratory dinner. This is your invitation to these events!
We have lined up a superb programme of speakers and activities, and included plenty of free time for you to relax and socialise with members of our community. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet friends old and new while finding out about the latest developments at Scottish Huntington’s Association, the Huntington’s community more widely, and the latest in global research.
Our Patron Sarah Winckless MBE will be joining us once again. In the morning session Sarah will share personal insights before leading a discussion with a panel of family members, including Scottish Huntington’s Association Youth Ambassadors.
In the afternoon attendees will be invited to attend their choice of interactive workshops, designed to suit the varying needs of family members, after which our great friend Professor Ed Wild (Associate Director of UCL Huntington’s Disease Centre) will deliver – in his own unique style – an update on global Huntington’s research.
The daytime event will be brought to a close by the Chair of our Trustees Aarran Air who will share his reflections on both the event and the past year.
Families are also invited to to an evening celebration dinner, and we hope as many people as possible will be able to join us so we can mark our 35th anniversary year together.
To be clear, depending upon availability and preference, there is the option to attend i) the Family Gathering & 35th anniversary celebration dinner ii) the Family Gathering alone or iii) the anniversary dinner alone.
Attendance at both the 35th anniversary celebration dinner and Family Gathering is free with lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments provided.
