Family Gathering 2025
This yearâs Family Gathering will take place on Saturday 8 November at voco Grand Central, Glasgow.
Our Patron Sarah Winckless MBE will join us and we are looking forward to welcoming Professor à sa Petersén of the Huntington Research Unit at Lund University in Sweden. Professor Petersén has led and collaborated on numerous research projects worldwide and will share her unique insight and understanding on current projects and clinical trials.
The Family Gathering will be brought to a close by joint Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Lorna Milne, however families are welcome to stay on for a âworld cafĂ©â style event, during which there will be an opportunity to meet key staff and stakeholders and continue conversations and networking with family member friends, old and new.
Attendance at the Family Gathering is free with lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments provided. Information about how to reserve your place(s) can be found overleaf. Please register by Friday 17 October. Numbers are limited to 150 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
You will also find more information, including directions to the venue, suggested accommodation, travel and parking on the enclosed document. Please email SHAfamilygathering@hdscotland.org or call our National Office on 0141 848 0308 if you have any questions.
In closing, the challenges being faced by Scottish Huntingtonâs Association and the wider charity sector at this time are well publicised, and we know from past events that those who are able are keen to assist. Anyone wishing to make a contribution to the work of the charity can do so by visiting hdscotland.org/get-involved/ways-to-donate/ or by clicking the âDonateâ button on our website.
Please be assured that there is no requirement to donate to attend the Family Gathering, which is free of charge for all attendees.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 8 November!
