Dance 100 gets set to return to Inverness

Our flagship Dance 100 event is heading back to Inverness following its huge success last year.

The five-hour dance event organised by local families in partnership with Scottish Huntington’s Association raised more £16,000 to help deliver specialist services and support while also spreading awareness about the disease and its impact on families.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever when it returns to Falcon Square on Saturday 13 September where dancers will be joined by special guest acts, a top DJ, supporters and volunteers.

Dance 100 began in George Square, Glasgow and after two successful years the charity was invited by families to take it to the Highlands.

Scottish Huntington’s Association Chief Executive Officer Alistair Haw said: “We had an amazing day in Inverness last year that demonstrated how the Huntington’s community comes together to support each another and we are delighted to be heading back this year.

“The families who danced together in the city centre helped to smash through the stigma and lack of understanding that has surrounded Huntington’s for too long because we were able to talk directly with members of the public to explain its complex symptoms.”
