To mark the 30th year of Scottish Huntington’s Association, we are inviting you to tell us about an inspiring volunteer whose kindness and commitment helps people and families to meet the challenges of Huntington’s disease.
The SHA 30th Anniversary Volunteer Awards are a chance to celebrate and thank the amazing individuals and groups who make the work of SHA possible.
They come from every walk of life and are of all ages. Whether raising awareness as a You, Me and HD speaker or helping at fundraising events, taking on unpaid office roles or coordinating vital family branch meetings, volunteers are at the heart of all that we do.
This special year offers the chance to say a big ‘thank you’ to these unsung heroes for sharing their energy, creativity, time and talents to make a real difference to people’s lives.
We are committed to supporting people living with HD in a way that promotes respect, dignity and self-worth and recognises that they have an important role to play in their community. Our volunteers are the perfect ambassadors for this vision.
Please join us in recognising their invaluable contribution to this work that we share by supporting the SHA 30th Anniversary Volunteer Awards.
How do I nominate a volunteer/group for an SHA 30th Anniversary Volunteering Award?
It’s really easy – simply fill in a nomination form at the bottom of the page. You can nominate an individual or group in more than one category, but you will need to fill in one form per category.
What happens next?
All nominations will be considered by a panel of judges drawn from across SHA, including a volunteer representative, and a vote will be taken to decide the award recipient for each category.
When will the Award winners be announced?
We’ll reveal the winners at this year’s Family Conference, which is being held at the MacDonald Aviemore Resort on 1 and 2 November 2019.
