Breathing Space Scotland is part of NHS 24 and provides a free, confidential helpline which is available out of normal office hours. Support is available Mon-Thurs 6pm – 2pm and at weekends from 6pm on Friday to 6am on Monday.

Breathing Space staff have an awareness of Huntington’s disease through training provided by the SHA and they offer a friendly listening ear. Breathing Space employs skilled staff (not volunteers) who know how to listen and are experienced in supporting people with a wide range of concerns. There are equal numbers of male and female staff.

Breathing Space staff cannot provide specific medical advice about HD, but they can signpost you to appropriate help when needed.

Living with HD can be challenging at any time of the day and this valuable service means you don’t need to be alone regardless of the time of day.
