Fundraising at work

The incredible support we have received from individuals and companies since Scottish Huntington’s Association began in 1989 has allowed us to grow from a small family run organisation to the organisation you see today delivering services across the length and breadth of Scotland to families living with Huntington’s disease (HD).

We are so grateful for every bit of support we receive and have enjoyed working with many different companies over the years in many different ways.

Ways You Can Get Involved

    We have fundraisers dedicated to working with you to make sure that both parties get the most out of a partnership.
     
    We can help with a lot of different aspects including planning activities, getting staff engaged, press releases, social media promotion, providing materials and coming along to events to deliver talks. We’re delighted to help in any way we can.

    Some companies prefer to make a large one-off donation to a charity where others choose to donate regularly. Every donation we receive makes a difference to our families living with HD with 87 pence of every pound going directly into services.
     
    Talk to us about making a donation or setting up payroll giving for staff members.

    There are so many FANTASTIC events your staff can get involved in across Scotland. Whether your team is interested in walking, marathons, cycles, assault courses, abseils, skydives, there will be something for everyone.
     
    We have lots of resources you can use and will give support along the way.

    Alternatively if you have the resources and staff team it can be really rewarding to organise your own event. Our Fundraising Welcome Pack is full of inspiration and you can look at Our Fundraisers page to find out what people have done in the past.
     
    Our fundraisers will be on hand to advise you along the way and can attend events to deliver a talk about the work of the charity.

    Not every donation needs to be money. Gifts in kind i.e. the offer of either services or products can be just as valuable. Anything including premises, old stock, time & vouchers can be put to good use either by the charity or through our youth service Amazon Wish List.

Massive thank you to staff in the Glasgow Office of Zurich insurance who have chosen to support the Financial Wellbeing Service through the Zurich Community Trust multi-year funding scheme. This means an incredible donation of £5000 a year for 3 years! In helping secure the future of this project they have provided families with access to  information, confidential advice, guidance and support on a range of money issues; accessing welfare benefits, debt and planning for the future. Thank you so much to everyone at Zurich and special thanks to Karen Stevely for nominating us for this amazing support.


In celebration of their 25th anniversary, the wonderful team at Graham Environmental Services Ltd have been doing a year of fundraising. They have set a target off raising £25 000 to split evenly between ourselves, CHAS and Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia. With fab events from a golf day, bake day, 80s disco, quiz night, sponsored bike ride, pop up charity shop and culminating in a Charity Ball in February, they have gone into this full steam ahead and we really appreciate the efforts and kindness of everyone involved! Go guys!


Since 12 November, 2018, Co-op Members have chosen to support Scottish Huntington’s Association (SHA) with their 1% and have raised £220.91 for the cause. This will be the first of four payments we will receive from the Co-op Local Community Fund.

There is still £1,091.45 up for grabs, and the more members who choose SHA and buy own brand Co-op products and services, the more we will benefit. SHA will be live for members to choose until 27 October 2018. To help us boost our profile we would like to encourage members to choose our cause within the following Co-op stores:
