SPECIALIST HUNTINGTON’S DISEASE SERVICE
Region: Lanarkshire
Based : Hunter Community Health Centre, East Kilbride G74 1AD
Salary: £26,901 – £31,529 (pro rata, subject to 1% increase from 01/04/18)
Part time post: 18 hours p.w. (Fixed Term Contract – 6 months)

We have a temporary vacancy for a Huntington’s Disease Specialist post. An exciting opportunity to join our existing team and growing Scottish charity which offers specialist assessment, advice, information and support to families affected by Huntington’s disease (HD) and professionals involved in their care.

Previous experience of working with Huntington’s disease is preferred but not essential; most of our staff have a background in mental health, physical disability, social work, neurology or palliative care. We will provide you with all the specialist knowledge you need. What we are looking for is someone who is enthusiastic and motivated and can have a positive impact on the quality of life of people living with the disease. You will also need to be able to work autonomously.

SHA invites applications from enthusiastic professionals to work autonomously in this challenging and innovative post. Candidates require a qualification in Nursing (1st level), Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other relevant field. A substantial level of post-basic experience is desirable. Community based practice knowledge is essential. A clean current driving licence and use of a car is essential.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced disclosure check.
