The Scottish Huntington’s Association (SHA) Avengers or the ‘SHAVENGERS’ for short is a team of superheroes taking part in a series of challenge events to raise both money and awareness to support families living with Huntington’s disease (HD) in Scotland. Once ordinary people like you and me they stepped up when they heard the call of duty to fight crime (HD). Ever since their humble beginnings the team has grown in size and might, and are now currently recruiting for more heroes to rally to the cause.

Do you have what it takes to fight alongside Iron Man, Wolverine and Danger Mouse? If you’re up to the challenge you can begin enrollment now to start boot camp on the 9th July. If you have the power of flight, train up with us on the 13th August at our flying lessons. Or if you need to prepare for a quick escape, we can show you the way at the Glasgow Zipline on 10th September.

The Fight

Huntington’s disease is a neurological condition which affects a person’s mobility, cognitive function and mental health. To find out more about the disease please visit our section on HD.

The SHA support families in Scotland living with HD through the provision of nine specialist services, a financial wellbeing service, a youth service and through the provision of training and education of health and social care staff. Find out more about the charity and all the great work we are doing here.

We do feel like standard of life for someone living with HD has drastically improved over the past 25 years but there’s still so far to go. We’re on a mission to break down the stigma attached to HD, help families to live a higher quality of life despite the disease, and raise awareness and understanding. And we couldn’t do the work we do without the help of our amazing fundraisers up and down the country and that is why we need you.
